BEGINNING MACHINE QUILTING

This is a class designed for the quilter who has little or no machine quilting experience. The following topics will be covered in the class.

1. Batting selection, 2. Pinning or basting, 3. Packaging for quilting, 4. Machine setup, 5. Aids for machine quilters, 6. Types of stitching, 7. Stipple & meandering, 8. Marking(overview only), 9. Stitching practice, 10. work on small whole cloth project

INTERMEDIATE MACHINE QUILTING

This is a class designed for the machine quilter who has had at least some machine quilting experience. More advanced techniques will be covered in this class. The following topics will be covered.

1. Batting selection, 2. Pinning or basting, 3. Packaging for quilting, 4. walking foot work, 5. Freemotion work, 6. Stipple & meandering, 7. Work on a whole cloth quilt project

QUILTING DESIGN & LAYOUT

This workshop covers the design and placement of quilting patterns on quilt tops. The following topics will be covered.

1. Design considersations before fabric selection, 2. Creativity, 3. Methods of marking quilt tops, 4. Pattern sources, 5. Template construction, 6. Pattrn resolution(even spacing), 7. Suggestions for students quilt tops
