Machine Quilting Class
FREE MOTION MACHINE QUILTING

Before class all students will be provided a paper pattern of quilting designs. Students will be required to transfer these designs to a piece of muslin before coming to class. They will also have to sandwich the top, batting and back with pins before class.
The class will start out with a demonstration of the basic free-motion quilting technique by the teacher. A few simple exercises will be done by the students before beginning stitching on the previously marked practice panel.
Tips are given along the way as the students work their way through increasingly difficult designs. By the end of the class students will have the skills required to stitch complicated heirloom ropes and feathers.
Lots of individual attention is provided to help students gain confidence and overcome problems that might arise.
Class Fee: $650.00 plus travel expenses to include airfare and/or mileage, lodging, and meal per diems. The price quoted is for up to 15 students. Please add $45.00 per additional student. Class size not to exceed 20 students.
A two day class is also available. In addition to reinforcing the skills learned in the one day class, work will be started on a whole cloth machine trapunto project. In addition to the above listed costs, please add $15.00 per student for the additional day.
